Russell Kenneth Robichaud

Ashburnham: Russell Kenneth Robichaud, 60, , died peacefully Sunday May 15th, at his home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. 

Mr. Robichaud was born in Fitchburg on September 29, 1955 the son of the late Russell J. Robichaud. He grew up in Fitchburg, graduating from Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical High School in 1974 and had lived in Ashburnham for the past 36 years. 

He worked as a carpenter and locksmith at the Groton School for the past 32 years.

Mr. Robichaud was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, gardening and camping. He played ice hockey in the Fitchburg Oldtimers Hockey League for many years. He was member of the Ashburnham Turnpike Rod and Gun Club.

He leaves his loving wife, Diane (Rousseau) Robichaud with whom he would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on October 23rd; his son Brian Robichaud and his fiancé Stacy Flanagan of Ashburnham; two daughters Jennifer Smith and her husband William of North Attleboro, Melissa Infantino and her husband Matthew of Athol; his mother, Jeanette (Lizotte) Robichaud of Fitchburg; two sisters, Carol Joly of Fayetteville, NC and Sheryl Ewen and her husband Mark of Lunenburg; five grandchildren, Keelin, Cragan, Cora, Aven and Macie along with many nieces and nephews. He also leaves his beloved dog, “Sadie puppy”.

Arrangements

His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 21, at 10AM in St. Joseph’s Church, 49 Woodland St., Fitchburg. Burial will be in the St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
